Domotica Zorghuis: VR Healthcare Education & Smart Home Training
Commissioned by the educational institution Aventus, a virtual smart care home (domotica zorghuis) was developed for their main campus in Apeldoorn. With smart home technology in healthcare evolving rapidly, modern educational programs require innovative ways to keep students up-to-date. Traditional textbook learning—and even tablet-based education—often falls short in practical application, while purchasing and maintaining physical healthcare hardware is highly expensive.
As a solution, an interactive Virtual Reality care home was created. This immersive e-learning environment completely isolates students from external distractions, requiring an active physical posture to complete tasks. This highly focused, interactive method significantly improves information retention. Furthermore, virtual environments offer a scalable alternative to physical hardware, allowing for fast and cost-effective digital updates as new healthcare technologies emerge.
