Interieur Examen in VR

In 2018, we collaborated with Jessica, a student in the Interior Design & Styling HBO program at the Jan des Bouvrie academy in Deventer. Because her graduation project placed a heavy focus on the human experience, she wanted her examiners to truly feel and step inside her design. This project is a perfect example of how an interior design student’s final exam presented in VR can completely redefine traditional architectural pitches.

Jessica prepared her virtual presentation entirely in SketchUp. Easysee partnered with her to optimize the 3D model for VR, enriching the environment with realistic elements like dynamic sunlight. During her final exam in February, we provided full on-site technical support. The immersive presentation was a massive success; the examiners explored the design using VR headsets, and Jessica graduated with a ‘Good’ rating, highly praised for her originality.

(Curious about her amazing final project? The Jan des Bouvrie academy organizes an annual exposition to showcase all exam pieces, where this VR experience was also featured.)
