NRG VR radiation simulation
We (Easysee) and Emagine BV were commissioned by NRG to develop a simulation training. In this simulation, students can train in VR to secure radioactive waste.
The scenario: The gate detector has been triggered. Using a measurement report, a plan must be created to secure the radiation source. The objective is to keep your own radiation dose as low as possible.
The player starts at the van, which is located approximately 30 meters from the truck. The player then decides which PPE and devices they want to use. Once the waste has been removed from the truck, the player can check the location of the radiation. Once the person has found the ionizing objects, they can clear them away at their own discretion. There may be one or more objects, and they are in a different location each time.
During the training, the personal dosimeter shows how much radiation has been received. The Automess meter is constantly on but emits a sound when it comes near a radioactive object. When the player believes they have finished, the results can be viewed on the scoreboard.
