Silver Dutch VR Award!

Virtual Reality

Easysee wins prestigious Dutch VR Award with virtual reality solution for architects.

HENGELO / VELDHOVEN. The Hengelo-based company Easysee won second prize last night at the prestigious Dutch VR Awards. Easysee convinced the jury with a virtual reality solution for architects and property developers, which allows people wearing 3D glasses to experience a design for themselves while walking around.

Over the past two years, Easysee has developed a product that allows someone wearing 3D glasses to walk around a virtual world wirelessly, freely, and without limits on their own two feet. A more lifelike experience does not yet exist. In many virtual reality inventions developed to date, the user is tied to a fixed location or a computer screen. This is not the case with Easysee’s innovation. It is therefore primarily used by architects and property developers, who can use it to bring a design that only exists on the drawing board to life and allow their clients to actually walk through it. The jury of the Dutch VR Awards also considered this to be unique. With the second prize, Easysee beat virtual reality projects from the likes of Aegon, VPRO, Océ, and Mysteryland.

In front of a hall full of peers and experts from the VR field gathered in Veldhoven last night, director Ton van Netten accepted the silver Dutch VR Award in the category VR and AR Innovations. The jury rewarded Easysee for the concept, the technical realization, the user experience, the impact on the VR field, and the degree of uniqueness. The award ceremony took place during the third day of Virtual (R)evolution 2017, a trade fair and conference on virtual reality technologies.
